Iraq - To prepare for the expected displacement of people fleeing Mosul during military operations to retake the city from ISIL, IOM, at the request of the Government of Iraq and in collaboration with the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Iraq, has agreed to construct emergency sites in Ninewa governorate.

Iraq - IOM in Iraq is providing emergency shelter and camp coordination and camp management (CCCM) support for more than 12,900 internally displaced Iraqis living in camps in Fallujah district, Anbar governorate. These activities are made possible by a USD 1 million donation from the Government of Japan.

Iraq - More than 100,000 Iraqis have been displaced since 16 June 2016 by military operations to retake ISIL-occupied areas in the Mosul corridor.
Iraq - Displacement continues in Iraq as military operations are ongoing; more than 90,100 Iraqis have been recently displaced from Salah al-Din (Baiji and Al-Shirqat districts) and Ninewa (Al-Qayara sub-district) between 16 June and 5 September 2016, according to IOM Iraq Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) Emergency Tracking.
Iraq - Over 90,000 Iraqis have been displaced in the Mosul Corridor as military operations continue in preparedness for the liberation of Mosul. This includes over 82,600 IDPs who have been displaced from Salah al-Din (Baiji and Al Shirqat districts) and Ninewa (Al Qayara district) since 16 June, as recorded by IOM Iraq Displacement Tracking Matrix, Emergency Tracking.
Iraq - IOM Iraq today released a report: “Migration Flows from Iraq to Europe: Reasons Behind Migration”. The report explores the reasons why Iraqi migrants choose Europe, their hopes and expectations, and motives for returning to their home country.
Iraq - The IOM Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) has identified and confirmed the location of 3,317,394 displaced Iraqis across the country from 1 January 2014 to 8 June 2016.
While new displacements are going on, many Iraqis have started to return to their places of origin in liberated areas. IOM identified 743,910 returnees in Iraq from return movements that began in August 2014.
